The Computational Microbiology Unit is a team
of the Probiogenomics lab specialized
in bioinformatics applied to microbiology.
Our main research activity entails the following area:
-
Profiling, functional Metagenomics and Metatranscriptomics of the human intestinal microbiota in health and disease.
-
Genomics, Comparative Genomics and Transcriptomics of high G+C Gram positive bacteria and lactic acid bacteria.
-
Genomics of probiotic bacteria (Probiogenomics).
-
Genomics and Metagenomics of bacteriophages.
-
Bacterial phylogeny, particularly focusing on high G+C Gram positive bacteria.
-
In silico investigation of Host-Microbe and Microbe-Microbe interactions of commensal bacteria.
