Computational Microbiology Unit

The Computational Microbiology Unit is a team

of the Probiogenomics lab specialized

in bioinformatics applied to microbiology.

Our main research activity entails the following area:

  • Profiling, functional Metagenomics and Metatranscriptomics of the human intestinal microbiota in health and disease.

  • Genomics, Comparative Genomics and Transcriptomics of high G+C Gram positive bacteria and lactic acid bacteria.

  • Genomics of probiotic bacteria (Probiogenomics).

  • Genomics and Metagenomics of bacteriophages.

  • Bacterial phylogeny, particularly focusing on high G+C Gram positive bacteria.

  • In silico investigation of Host-Microbe and Microbe-Microbe interactions of commensal bacteria.
